These paintings are of memories. Memories of the experiences of things seen, experienced or thought about. As they have been considered over a long period, they are almost memories of memories: extended moments.

In chronological sequence are firstly the 'Bite' series, which are paintings of the bite of a cherry as much as the cherry bitten, a sort of continuum of the memory. Followed by 'Passage' which revisits some of the ideas of the Salts Mill exhibition in that the absent is always present, the presence is inherent in the clothes,  to be rediscovered and continuously encountered.

In 'Nightfall' the experience is less golden, more drained of light, unlike the trees in 'Passage', the building is by no means benign. 'Witness' is about things seen, art about art. Art being an accumulation of all those things/feelings surrounding an event, which are refined to become a metaphor for the memory of memory.
